Evening Auction in Moscow “Modern Art. Sculpture XXI century”
At the auction which was held on July 22, 2021, Bingyol’s auction house presented many works by contemporary Armenian authors, among whom were Karen Baghdasaryan, Karen Terzyan, Sarkis Babayan and many others.
The work presented on the poster is called “Shock” and is a part of the series «Caricature”. The sculpture was created in 2009. A system of automatic rotation that is built inside, make the sculpture vibrate and give an audience the impression of a “breathing” head.
Artist, Karen Baghdasaryan was born in 1963 in Yerevan. In 1991 he graduated from the Yerevan State University of Fine Arts. He is a member of the Union of Artists of Armenia since 2003 and a member of the Maison des Artists in France since 2001. Lives and works in Yerevan. His works were at exhibitions in Lithuania, Switzerland, Lebanon, Japan, France. And the sculpture “Gates of Paradise” was presented to the Vatican Museum by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
